So Sam has been watching Man vs Wild. During an episode on surviving falling into frozen water, I mentioned to Sam the concept of Polar/Penguin Plunges. He was fascinated by the idea and wanted to participate in the North Bennington Polar Plunge.
So Alex, Sam and I held out our hats and raised money for The Special Olympics of Vermont .
Team Thompson Family and Friends raised money and approached Lake Paran in North Bennington at 11:00 am on January 26th, 2013.
The Temperature outside was 10 degrees Fahrenheit. In our shorts, beanies and shoes we ran into the water. Quickly turned around and ran up the hill and back to the warming tents.
I am proud of the whole family. We had a great time and went on to enjoy Winterfest in North Bennington.
In 1999 I reformed No Love Lost and worked on taking old material and recording it. Jesse Snyder, Blake Livingston and Jeremy Thompson joined me to help reform No Love Lost. In 2000 Jesse Snyder left and Travis Schell replaced him. We began working on new material. This song December Moon was a song I wrote between No Love Lost and other projects. I revived it in many attempts to get it right and this form with No Love Lost was in my opinion the final form. This version was from the demos we recorded for An Ocean Between what was to be our second CD.

Back in 1996 my band No Love Lost was practicing in York, PA. During our practice sessions we would work on different sounds and songs, slowly cobbling together our original material. We would also jam, just trying to play off of each other. I recorded almost every moment so I could review it and maybe find fragments of ideas. All of these recordings vanished in the last year or so leaving me with only a few digital copies of moments. But here is what I call Unto the Sun. Mike Zeiders is on bass, John Thrush on drums and I play the guitar. This was recorded through the condenser microphones on a boom box. So the balance and tone is as good as it will get.

2012 is winding down. We have made it to this reflective holiday of Thanksgiving. A wonderful time to reflect, to not look back or ahead, but to pause and look around, to see that which you are a part of, that which you have and that which is there for you. It is my favorite holiday, a tradition of gathering and sharing a feast with family.
For everyone have a happy Thanksgiving.
